Dealing with Miscarriage in Surrogacy: A Compassionate Guide
A miscarriage. You are not alone. This does happen (yes, even when transferring high quality embryos).
It is important to remember that there is never a 100% guarantee that an embryo transfer will be a success.
If there is ever a circumstance where a miscarriage takes place, that does not mean your Surrogate “did something wrong.”
There is no one to blame.
Now here is the good news: the majority of miscarriages we see happen prior to the 6-week heartbeat detection.
This means that following the event, your Reproductive Endocrinologist will regroup with you and plan for the next cycle.
This is not the end of your surrogacy journey.
