In 2011, Adam & Frank Golden set out to build the family of their dreams by beginning their own surrogacy journey. After months of surrogate matching, egg donor selection, legal agreements, and fertility clinic appointments, they were finally ready for the next big step.
By February 2012, Adam & Frank were at the fertility center for an embryo transfer that would become a life-changing moment. After an anxious two-week wait, their Surrogate was confirmed pregnant. Nine months later, baby Sophia was born and placed into the arms of her two loving Dads.

How much does surrogacy cost with Golden?
Golden offers two primary Intended Parent programs. Golden Signature uses a Variable Cost Structure with a $65,000 agency fee and an estimated total of approximately $230,000 for Intended Parents who already have embryos created and experience a straightforward journey. This estimate assumes one successful match, one embryo transfer resulting in pregnancy, and no significant complications, rematching, or unusual third-party expenses. Because costs can vary, Golden recommends that Intended Parents have $300,000 or more available before beginning.
Golden Guarantee is an All-In Fixed Cost program at $275,000 for covered journey expenses under the program agreement. It excludes IVF, egg donation, newborn medical expenses, multiples, and special requests or circumstances outside the program terms.
How are Golden Surrogates screened?
Candidates must meet Golden’s Enhanced Surrogate Criteria and complete Premium Surrogate Pre-Screening before match presentation. The process includes application review, interview, criminal background screening, pregnancy and medical records review, insurance review, OB clearance, psychological assessment, virtual home visit, delivery hospital NICU verification, preliminary IVF clinic review, and final leadership review.
Golden Signature and Golden Guarantee also include a Maternal-Fetal Medicine screening review before match presentation. This additional clinical review gives Intended Parents stronger information before matching. Final medical clearance for a specific journey remains with the Intended Parents’ fertility clinic and applicable medical professionals.
How do I get started with Golden Surrogacy?
Intended Parents can begin by requesting information about Golden Signature, Golden Guarantee, and the consultation process. The consultation gives families an opportunity to discuss program structure, costs, embryo readiness, matching expectations, and whether Golden’s selective model is the right fit.
Prospective Surrogates can begin by completing Golden’s Surrogate application. The application allows the team to review pregnancy history, qualifications, support, and readiness before moving into the intake and medical-record process.
