Clear Numbers and a Match You Choose
Compensation That Starts Before Pregnancy
First-time Golden Surrogates receive $50,000 in base compensation plus $20,000 in standard Golden Benefits. Of that package, $12,500 is normally paid before pregnancy is confirmed, so support begins early rather than only after a positive result.
When needed, Intended Parents fund a separate maternity insurance policy coordinated through third-party reproductive insurance professionals. That coverage is separate from the Surrogate’s minimum $70,000 total compensation package. Journey funds are held and disbursed by an independent third-party escrow company, not Golden.
A Match You Choose
Matching at Golden is mutual. You review Intended Parent profiles, ask questions, and decide whether the fit feels right. Communication and relationship expectations, including how often you would like to be in touch during and after the journey, are discussed before a match is confirmed.
Both the Surrogate and the Intended Parents must agree before the journey moves into medical and legal coordination.

Why Golden Requires Single Embryo Transfers
Golden accepts only Intended Parents who agree to a single embryo transfer for every transfer attempt in a Golden journey. Golden does not accept journeys planning to transfer more than one embryo during a single transfer attempt.
This longstanding standard helps reduce the additional health risks that multiple gestation can create for a Surrogate. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine strongly recommends single embryo transfer in gestational-carrier cycles because of the risks associated with multiple gestations.
A single embryo can occasionally divide and result in twins, so single embryo transfer cannot guarantee a singleton pregnancy.
IVF physicians provide medical guidance, and Surrogates retain their informed-consent and medical decision-making rights. Golden separately controls which journeys it accepts into its program and accepts only single embryo transfer plans.
Direct Communication in English
Golden requires Intended Parents to communicate proficiently in English so they can understand program communications, participate directly in matching and journey decisions, and maintain regular communication with their Surrogate. For most Golden Surrogates, English is their primary language. Golden does not require perfect or native-level English, but Intended Parents must be able to ask questions, understand important information, and communicate without depending entirely on a third-party translator for routine journey interactions.
Golden’s matching model is relational, not transactional. We expect Intended Parents and Surrogates to build genuine rapport and remain in direct, consistent contact throughout the journey. Golden does not maintain a multilingual case-management team capable of providing ongoing translation across numerous languages. Requiring sufficient direct communication helps protect clarity, trust, informed participation, and the Surrogate’s experience. Golden takes seriously its responsibility to provide a safe, ethical, and respectful journey for everyone involved.

Your dedicated Care Team manages the many details that shape your timeline, from travel and scheduling to communication and third-party coordination. You also do not need to live near the Golden team to receive this level of support.
Travel and Local Monitoring
Your flights and hotel accommodations for screening and embryo transfer are researched and booked by a member of your Care Team. Related costs, along with any cash advance for approved journey expenses such as lost wages or childcare where applicable, are paid by Golden and billed to the Intended Parents, so you are not asked to carry those expenses yourself first.
Most Surrogates also need a local facility for bloodwork and ultrasounds so the IVF clinic can monitor hormone levels and uterine lining during the medication protocol. Golden researches a suitable location that returns same-day results and sets up billing with a corporate credit card so payment is prompt.
Appointments and Third-Party Follow-Up
Screening appointments, monitoring visits, and journey milestones are scheduled and tracked with you, so the calendar fits your household rather than working against it.
Golden acts as the project manager for your journey, engaging with each third-party professional involved. That includes checking in with nurse coordinators at the IVF clinic and following up with attorneys on the legal agreement, so each step is tracked toward a timely outcome.
Insurance and Medical-Billing Coordination
Your insurance policy is reviewed by a group of third-party reproductive insurance professionals. A Care Team member collects your insurance card and Explanation of Coverage, schedules the review, and oversees the process. If a supplemental policy is needed, your Care Team facilitates it between you and the Intended Parents. Golden also coordinates the purchase of life insurance and any other insurance product required for your journey. Golden does not underwrite insurance or make coverage determinations.
Bills submitted to escrow for payment are examined by your Care Team to confirm insurance coverage was applied first. If a discrepancy is found, your Care Team coordinates with you and the medical providers so the claim can be resubmitted and processed correctly.
Independent Legal Coordination
When you receive the first draft of the Surrogate Agreement from your own attorney, Golden may compare operational and compensation details against its program checklist. The Surrogate’s independent attorney interprets, advises on, and negotiates the legal agreement. Golden does not provide legal review or legal advice.
Escrow and Payment Coordination
Every reimbursement request you submit is also emailed to your Care Team for prior authorization, verifying dates and amounts, and the monthly statement is forwarded to Golden for review. Your Care Team is in regular contact with the escrow manager so payments follow the legal agreement and are tracked through each milestone. The independent escrow company, not Golden, holds and disburses the funds.
Delivery and Hospital Coordination
Golden contacts your delivery hospital to confirm receipt of the parentage paperwork and awareness of the surrogacy delivery. A hospital tour and a conference call are scheduled with all parties and key hospital staff, which helps the day of delivery run smoothly. Your Care Team remains a point of contact through the transition into the recovery period described in your agreement.
