Below, Golden has outlined the process by compiling a simple and easy-to-follow Surrogacy Timeline. Our goal is to make your experience as stress-free as possible while you prepare for your journey as a Golden Surrogate.

  • Getting Started

     

    1-2 weeks

    Your journey begins by completing an application and having an initial consultation with our Surrogate In-take Specialist. You’ll be able to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the requirements, timeline, and Golden’s unique process. After the preliminary consultation, if you’re ready to move forward, Golden will conduct a detailed in-take interview. This important step allows you the opportunity to convey your matching preferences and tell us more about yourself. Our team will also send you a link to complete the necessary agency documents.

  • Pre-Screening

     

    30-90 Days

    All medical records from previous pregnancies & deliveries are collected. You will also be asked to have your primary care doctor conduct a physical exam and sign our medical clearance form, as well as have an updated PAP, and basic infectious disease testing. Simultaneously, Golden initiates your background check, helps to schedule your in-person psychological assessment, and home visit. Any applicable insurance policy will be analyzed during this step.

  • Matching

     

    1-2 weeks

    After Golden has identified a potential Match, profiles are exchanged, and your dedicated Care Team will help facilitate a Matching Conference call. Both parties must agree to move forward together and finalize a mutual match. Once official, Golden will notify the fertility clinic and an appointment will be set for you to meet the Reproductive Endocrinologist for in-person screening.

  • In-Person Screening

     

    4-8 weeks

    The Reproductive Endocrinologist will examine your reproductive organs in-person prior to granting final medical clearance for you to continue in the program. Additional FDA required infectious disease and drug testing is also performed. This screening appointment must typically be scheduled to coincide with a specific day of your menstrual cycle, and therefore could take 4-8 weeks to schedule and complete, post matching.

  • Legal

     

    4-8 weeks

    Once you have been given official medical clearance, the legal process may commence. Golden will pair you with the best Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) attorney – licensed in the state where delivery will take place, to represent your interests regarding the agreement between you and your Intended Parent(s).

  • Embryo Transfer

     

    15-30 days

    Once you have been given official medical clearance, the legal process may commence. Golden will pair you with the best Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) attorney – licensed in the state where delivery will take place, to represent your interests regarding the agreement between you and your Intended Parent(s).

  • Pregnancy!

     

    9 month

    Your dedicated Care Team tracks the pregnancy, and your health very closely. Golden is in continuous contact with both Intended Parent(s) and Surrogate to ensure a harmonious and pleasant experience throughout the entire journey! Care Team members, as well as the Agency Director, are always available via phone, text, or email. During the second trimester, Golden will initiate the process of establishing birthrights with your legal representation. The delivery hospital is also notified of the impending surrogacy delivery, and a tour or conference call is coordinated.
