Talking to Children about Surrogacy: A Guide for Parents
Speaking with your children about their origin story or the surrogacy journey that brought them into your arms is a crucial conversation.
As a former Intended Parent, I understand the importance of this topic. For Adam and me, we embraced early and open communication as the foundation of our approach. We wanted complete transparency when discussing the surrogacy journey and how our children came to be a part of our lives.
However, your approach may differ, and that’s perfectly okay. There’s no right or wrong way to handle it. What matters is doing what feels best for you and your family.
If you’d like guidance or a friendly conversation about this, give me a call. We can explore various approaches and discuss your unique situation. Even if you’re not a client of Golden, I’m here to help. I can provide information or direct you to experienced mental health professionals. Together, we’ll find the resources that align with your needs.
Let’s nurture open dialogue, understanding, and love as we shape our children’s beautiful origin stories.
