The Difference Between Gestational and Traditional Surrogacy

The answer to the question, “Can the Surrogate keep my baby?” is found in knowing the difference between a TRADITIONAL and GESTATIONAL Surrogate.

TRADITIONAL SURROGATE: When the Surrogate is biologically related to the baby she is carrying.

GESTATIONAL SURROGATE: When the Surrogate is NOT biologically related to the baby she is carrying.

When the Surrogate has no genetic relation to the child she has no legal rights to “keep the baby.”

Here at Golden, we only recruit Gestational Surrogates and manage Gestational Surrogacy arrangements.

If you are looking for an agency to work with make sure you understand the difference between these two arrangements.
